One point really ought to be added to the character assassination, uh, discussion of her resignation speech. I know this is wildly speculative and rather rash of me, but perhaps, just perhaps, she meant what she said. Yes, yes, I know. A truth-speaking politician is a difficult concept for the country-club Republican and the Democrat in general (who haven't had one of those since Al Smith died) but you have to admit it's one of the logical possibilities.
