The Blessed Martyrs of Guadalajara

This Guadalajara is in Spain rather than Mexico.

These Saints, the Carmelite nuns Blessed María Pilar of St Francis Borgia, Blessed Teresa of the Child Jesus and St John of the Cross, and Blessed María Angeles of St Joseph were commemorated yesterday in the Carmelite calendar. They were martyred by the liberty-loving republicans of Spain in 1936. A short recounting of their martyrdom can be found here.
