Remember Pearl Harbor!

Here on the left (in both senses of the word) coast we are nothing if not politically correct. We don’t even want to offend the co-producers of a movie by showing their movie. The Fort MacArthur Museum Associates – a group made up largely of veterans – couldn’t get permission from the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs to show the 30 year old movie “Tora, Tora, Tora”. The Japanese might find it offensive. Even though Japanese film companies co-produced it. Even though it was criticized when it first came out as being too pro-Japanese.

Tom Hennessey’s column in today’s Press-Telegram gives the full story, including the happy ending.
