23 NOVEMBER
. . . .is the feast of St. Clement of Rome, the third successor of St. Peter. His Letter to the Corinthians was considered by some in the early church to be a part of Scripture. In the Pauline calendar, he shares this date with the Irish monk, St. Columban. Columban traveled throughout Europe, preaching and founding monasteries. He died in his Abbey of Bobbio in Italy. Some views of the abbey as it is now can be seen here. (The text is in Italian.)
